Why I Built Math for Humans
You know how you’re drowning in AI tools that promise to revolutionize teaching, but most just give students answers faster instead of helping them think deeper?
I created Math for Humans to fix that.
After 15+ years teaching math and leading district initiatives, I’ve seen firsthand what works and what wastes time. Teachers don’t need more tools. They need clarity, support, and a plan.
I believe AI should support student thinking—not replace it.
My goal is simple: Help math leaders use AI with purpose, not pressure, so teachers feel confident and students become better thinkers.
Here’s why teams trust me to guide their work:
- Led Math EdTech Across 20+ Schools
- Directed “Zeroing in on Math” Across Boston Schools
- Facilitated 100+ Math PD Sessions
- Achieved 16% Proficiency Gains with Blended Learning
- City on a Hill Teacher of the Year
The difference? I’ve done this work. From Boston classrooms to district boardrooms, I know what sticks and what gets forgotten by October.
Are You Human?
Yep, 100%. A few things about me:
- I started something called ‘Lame Joke Thursday’ in my classes where I would take a bad math joke and tell it to my students.
- I spent a year on a mini-retirement, traveling to 13 countries and waking up each day with no plan but to explore and connect.
- I’m a lifelong athlete, currently playing ball hockey for Team USA (yes, that’s a thing!).
- I’m good at all sports. However my bowling game is absolute trash.
- My favorite ice cream flavor is mint chocolate chip. I’m trying to find the best one around the world. Let me know if you think you’ve had it… I’ll come around to try. (note it must be green)
Curious, excited, overwhelmed?
Let’s Talk
You don’t need all the answers, just a guide who helps you ask the right questions. I bet we can solve for why and find the common denominator.
